Every anime fan knows the fun of coming across a wild theory online. Sometimes it makes you stop, think twice, and even wonder, “What if this is actually true?” Anime is full of mysteries, hidden secrets, and unexplained powers, which give fans endless reasons to imagine different outcomes. While many theories disappear without proof, some become popular because they sound surprisingly possible.
Here are five anime fan theories that may feel unbelievable right now, but they could turn out to be true in the seasons ahead.
1) One Punch Man: Saitama’s Power Tied to “God”
Fans have debated for quite a while as to the origin of Saitama’s incredible power and what it comes from. Is he just an output of his hilarious “100 push-ups” routine, or is there something much deeper? One of the most convincing theories states that perhaps Saitama is linked, however vaguely, to the entity known as “God” from the manga.
The weird individual had a previously established ability to give others some insane powers. If the theory holds any weight, Saitama’s unbelievable power may not be a coincidence but instead part of an undiscovered connection that may come to light in the Monster Association arc or in later storylines.
2) Attack on Titan: Eren Will Return in Some Form
Although Attack on Titan wrapped up with a shocking ending, many fans are convinced that Eren’s story isn’t finished yet. The theory proposes that because Ymir’s powers still exist in fragments and there is a titan realm that is still somewhat mysterious, it is possible Eren could find his way back again, so to speak. Eren may not return in the form of a titan, but perhaps through time and the memories of the surviving warriors, or as a reincarnated being, or as a spirit that lingers before the titan realm.
Considering Hajime Isayama’s style of intricate and layered storytelling, it wouldn’t be surprising if Eren found a way to be a pivotal part of humanity’s future.
3) Jujutsu Kaisen: Yuji Is Linked to Sukuna’s Origin
Yuji Itadori’s existence has always seemed unusual. How could an ordinary boy survive eating one of Sukuna’s fingers and even keep the King of Curses under control? A popular theory suggests that Yuji might not be just a lucky accident. He could have ancestral connections to Sukuna or be part of a planned experiment to create a vessel.
As the manga explores more about cursed techniques and family histories, many fans think that Yuji’s bloodline might hold the key to finally defeating Sukuna.
4) Demon Slayer: Nezuko as the True Key to Ending Muzan
Tanjiro is the main hero, but many fans believe Nezuko might be the real secret weapon against Muzan. She can survive sunlight and is learning to control her demon powers without losing her humanity, which makes her very special.
Some fans think Nezuko could develop even further, possibly becoming the cure for demonization or the only one able to defeat Muzan completely. It sounds surprising, but it fits with the unique role she has played so far in the story.

5) My Hero Academia: All Might’s Legacy Hidden in Midoriya
Even though All Might has retired, many fans believe his influence on Izuku Midoriya goes deeper than we know. Some theories suggest that All Might secretly passed on a hidden technique or latent power that hasn’t fully awakened yet. This could mean that Midoriya has untapped abilities that will only appear when the world faces its toughest villains.
Considering how Horikoshi often plants clues early for later reveals, All Might’s legacy may play a bigger role in shaping the future hero than fans expect.
