The highly anticipated anime film, “Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc,” is set to premiere in Japanese theaters on September 19th. This announcement was made during the Chainsaw Man AnimeJapan 2025 stage, generating significant excitement among fans.

To commemorate the premiere date, 12 character visuals were released, showcasing the updated designs for the entire cast, including the pivotal character Reze. These visuals offer a glimpse into the film’s aesthetic and the characters’ portrayals.
Tatsuya Yoshihara, known for his work on the “Black Clover” TV anime and his direction of key episodes in the “Chainsaw Man” TV series, will direct the film. Hiroshi Seko returns as the scriptwriter, with Kazutaka Sugiyama handling character designs. The production will be handled by MAPPA, ensuring high-quality animation.
The creative team also includes Souta Yamazaki as Sub Character Designer, Sota Shigetsugu as Action Animation Director, and Shoichi as Main Animator. Riki Matsuura will design the devils, and Kiyotaka Oshiyama, director of “Look Back,” will also contribute.
“Chainsaw Man” is based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s popular manga. The TV anime adaptation, which premiered in 2022, was streamed internationally by Crunchyroll. The story follows Denji, a young man who forms a contract with the Chainsaw Devil, Pochita, after being betrayed and killed. He is resurrected as “Chainsaw Man,” a human with a devil’s heart, and navigates a world filled with dangerous devils. The Reze Arc focuses on the complex relationship between Denji and Reze.
