The popular anime MMORPG Blue Protocol: Star Resonance will launch on October 9, 2025, in Western countries. The game is free-to-play and can be played on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on iOS and Android devices. Made by Shanghai Bokura Network Technology and published by A Plus, this release brings back the Blue Protocol game after it was canceled before.

Blue Protocol: Star Resonance Launches in October

Blue Protocol was originally made by Bandai Namco Online Studios and released in Japan two years ago, only for PC. However, the game ran into problems and was eventually shut down, leaving its future uncertain. Earlier this year, Shanghai Bokura Network Technology bought the rights, renamed it Blue Protocol: Star Resonance, and prepared it for players in Western countries. This new version comes with many exciting improvements.

One major change is that the game is now free-to-play, using a gacha system for some in-game items. This makes it easier for more players to join. The world is now fully open instead of being split into separate zones. Players can explore using new moves like gliding. Combat has been improved to be faster and more engaging, with challenging bosses and detailed PvE raids.

The class system has also changed to follow the classic MMO setup of tank, support, and damage roles. On top of that, the story has been refreshed to give both new and returning players a better experience.

The game will launch on PC and mobile devices, but there’s no news yet about consoles. The developers said future console versions will depend on how well the PC and mobile releases do. Players can preregister now to get updates and early access perks.
