Chainsaw Man fans have been warned after illegal footage from the latest film, Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, appeared online. The warning comes as the movie continues to perform strongly in theaters, highlighting both its popularity and the seriousness of film piracy laws in Japan.

Chainsaw Man Reze Arc: Producers Take Action Against Leaks

The official statement released on September 26 addressed the illegal recording and distribution of the Reze Arc film. It emphasized that filming inside a theater is a crime under the Law for Prevention of Unauthorized Recording of Films. Uploading these recordings to social media or video-sharing platforms such as X, YouTube, TikTok, or Facebook constitutes copyright infringement.

The production committee warned that penalties for violations could include up to 10 years in prison, a fine of up to 10 million yen, or both. They also noted that even anonymous uploads can be traced and punished.

The warning comes as Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc enjoys a successful theatrical run, grossing over 2 billion yen ($13.4 million) since its September 19 release. Fans have been eagerly following the movie’s promotions, including the English-subbed and dubbed trailers, as well as returning musical contributions from Kenshi Yonezu with “IRIS OUT” and MAXIMUM THE HORMONE with the extended track “HAWATARI NIOKU CENTI [2-hundred-million-centimeter-long blades].”

Set to release in North America on October 24, the film brings the iconic action of the anime to the big screen. Following Denji, the Chainsaw Man, as he battles devils, hunters, and mysterious foes, the Reze Arc explores his most dangerous fight yet—one fueled by love in a world where survival has no rules. Fans are encouraged to watch the movie in theaters and avoid unauthorized recordings, ensuring everyone can enjoy the experience safely.
