Anime fans and record collectors everywhere can rejoice as the classic soundtrack from the original Dragon Ball anime series is now receiving an international vinyl release. The highly anticipated edition, which had been previously limited to Japan, has been pre-ordered on the Crunchyroll Store, a major milestone for international fans looking to experience the retro score in its original form.

The re-release, which accurately duplicates the 1986 vinyl, features 14 tracks on two sides of a double-sided disc. These works, composed by renowned composer Shunsuke Kikuchi, represent the musical identity that made early Dragon Ball so iconic and enduring. Kikuchi, who went on to compose for Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Kai, set the stage for a signature sound that remains appealing to fans today.

Tracklist Highlights Iconic Themes

Among the featured tracks are “Mystical Adventure!” performed by Hiroki Takahashi and the closing theme “Romantic Ageru yo” sung by Ushio Hashimoto—both staples of the franchise’s early years. Takahashi, a familiar voice for longtime fans, also provided vocals for the themes of the first three Dragon Ball films. Composer Takeshi Ike, known for his work on both songs, also contributed to the musical scores of several Dragon Ball Z feature films, including Dead Zone and The World’s Strongest.
