Crunchyroll pulled out all the stops at Anime Expo 2025, unveiling a slew of new anime acquisitions, exclusive sneak peeks, and fresh production confirmations during their Industry Panel on Saturday, July 5.
Crunchyroll’s Big Announcements from Anime Expo 2025
Here’s a rundown of the major reveals from the Crunchyroll Industry Panel:
- Black Clover Season 2: Fans can rejoice as Black Clover is officially returning for a new season, exclusively on Crunchyroll. Studio Pierrot is back at the helm for animation. To celebrate the manga’s 10th anniversary, creator Yuki Tabata shared his excitement for the “powered-up anime” from the “most awesome anime production staff.”
- Daemons of the Shadow Realm: Studio Bones film president, Masahiko Minami, confirmed an anime adaptation of Daemons of the Shadow Realm, based on Hiromu Arakawa’s ( Fullmetal Alchemist ) manga. Masahiro Ando ( Sword of the Stranger ) is set to direct this “otherworldly fantasy where mystery and the uncanny intertwine.”
- Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 4: Voice actor Yusuke Kobayashi announced that Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 4 will stream exclusively on Crunchyroll in 2026. Studio WHITE FOX and Masahiro Shinohara are returning from Season 3.
- Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3: Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3 is slated for a 2026 release on Crunchyroll. Studio Bind ( Flower and Asura ) is animating, with Ryosuke Shibuya directing once again. A teaser trailer featuring Eris Greyrat was also unveiled.
- Classroom of the Elite Season 4: Studio Lerche’s Classroom of the Elite Season 4 is coming soon to Crunchyroll. Additionally, Classroom of the Elite – Merge Puzzle Spacial Exam is now available on Crunchyroll Game Vault.
- Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider: This new series will stream on Crunchyroll in October 2025. LIDENFILMS is animating, with Takahiro Ikezoe directing. Toko Machida is handling series composition, and TeddyLoid is composing the music. The story follows a 40-year-old man’s journey to become a Kamen Rider.
- You and I Are Polar Opposites: This romantic comedy series is set to arrive on Crunchyroll in January 2026. Lapin Track is animating, with Takayoshi Nagatomo directing and Teruko Utsumi writing the series composition. Sayumi Suzushiro and Shogo Sakata have been announced as the voice cast for Suzuki and Tani, respectively.

Beyond these major acquisitions, the Crunchyroll Industry Panel also offered a few extra treats:
- Sentenced to Be a Hero: A special, never-before-seen teaser video from Sentenced to Be a Hero was exclusively shown to panel attendees. The series, animated by Studio KAI, will premiere on Crunchyroll in January 2026.
- Ouran High School Host Club 20th Anniversary Merch: In honor of the 20th anniversary of the 2006 series Ouran High School Host Club, Crunchyroll is collaborating with Steady Hands for a new merch line featuring sweaters and cardigans. Newly drawn celebratory art by character designer Kumiko Takahashi was revealed, with pre-orders available now on the Steady Hands website.
- Neon Genesis Evangelion Jacket Giveaway: A fan at the panel won a replica of Misato Katsuragi’s iconic uniform jacket from Neon Genesis Evangelion. This high-quality leather jacket, which comes with a replica of Misato’s cross necklace, was launched in-person at Anime Expo to celebrate the anime’s 30th anniversary and is available for Crunchyroll subscribers online. It will be available to everyone after Anime Expo concludes on July 7.
