The news broke today with the launch of an official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for the upcoming anime. An announcement video and a new visual were also released to mark the occasion.
The original Hono no Tokyuji: Dodge Danpei manga ran in Shogakukan’s CoroCoro Comic from 1989 to 1995, inspiring a 47-episode anime that aired starting in October 1991, along with several video games.
Its sequel, Dodge Danko, began serialization on the Weekly CoroCoro Comic website in November 2022. Further details regarding the production staff for the new anime have yet to be announced.
