The anime adaptation of “From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman” has released a new trailer, showcasing more action as the series airs in Japan. The trailer also unveils two new cast members: Ai Kayano, who will voice Rose Marblehart, the Lieutenant of the Holy Order of the Church of Sphene, and Hidenobu Kiuchi, who will voice Gatoga Lazorne, the Knight Commander of the same order.

The anime is directed by Akio Kazumi (known for “Loner Life in Another World”) at studios Passione and Hayabusa Film. Kunihiko Okada (“The Eminence in Shadow” scriptwriter) is handling the series composition, while Satsuki Hayasaki (“Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki”) is in charge of character designs and serves as chief animation director. The music is composed by Yasuharu Takanashi (“Fairy Tail”).

J-Novel Club, the publisher of the official English light novel, describes the story as follows: Beryl Gardinant, a self-proclaimed “humble old man,” works as a sword instructor in a remote village. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when a renowned former student visits him with astonishing news: he has been appointed as a special instructor for the knights of the Liberion Order.
This new role takes Beryl to the capital, where he reconnects with former students who have become elite knights, a top-tier wizard, and even a highly ranked adventurer. Baffled by their desire for his guidance, Beryl questions his ability to fulfill his new position and whether he will ever find peace from his devoted students.
