The film is set to premiere in Japan on May 30, 2025, and will include a new acoustic version of the TV series’ opening theme, “Where Our Blue Is.” Toho will handle the Japanese distribution. This acquisition by GKIDS for North America follows Toho International’s purchase of GKIDS last year, indicating a potential shift in distribution strategy compared to Jujutsu Kaisen 0, which was distributed by Crunchyroll and Funimation in the U.S. The movie was recently made available for streaming on Netflix and Crunchyroll.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie will explore the time when Gojo and Geto were high school classmates tasked with protecting Riko Amanai, the Star Plasma Vessel, from those who sought to harm her. This challenging mission is described as a defining moment in their relationship and destinies. A sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has also been announced, with its format yet to be revealed.
