Kaiju No. 8 Season 2: New Trailer and More

The new trailer for Kaiju No. 8 Season 2, titled “Ishi no Keishō” (which means “Inheritance of Will”), shows one key scene that features a young Kikoru Shinomiya remembering her dream of fighting alongside her mother in the Defense Force. This gives a glimpse into her story arc for the new season.

We also see Kafka Hibino struggling to control his kaiju form, continuing from where Season 1 left off, showing that his inner battle is far from over. The trailer ends with action-packed scenes of Defense Force members fighting kaiju, all set to “Beautiful Colors” by OneRepublic, which is confirmed as the new ending theme for Season 2.

The opening song for this season is “You Can’t Run From Yourself” by Aurora, revealed earlier. The original voice cast is returning, including Masaya Fukunishi as Kafka, Asami Seto as Mina, Fairouz Ai as Kikoru, and more.

New characters are also joining the story, such as Hikari Shinomiya, Kikoru’s late mother, shown in flashbacks. The season is produced by Production I.G., with Studio Khara working on kaiju designs. The creative team from the first season is back, promising another strong continuation.
