Recap of Kaiju No. 8 Season 1
Season 1 of Kaiju No. 8 introduced Kafka Hibino, a 32-year-old who dreamed of joining the Anti-Kaiju Defense Force with his childhood friend, Mina. Instead, he cleaned up monster remains. His life changed when a parasitic kaiju entered his body, granting him the power to transform into a human-kaiju hybrid, codenamed “Kaiju No. 8.”
Despite his new, terrifying abilities, Kafka maintained his human consciousness. This shocking development forced him to hide his identity while still aiming to join the Defense Force. Eventually, his secret was exposed when he used his kaiju form to save his comrades.
Season 1 concluded with Kafka under probation, now an experimental “weapon” for the Defense Force, who monitor him closely due to the potential threat he poses.
