Medalist Season 2 Set to Premiere in January 2026
Medalist Season 2 was officially announced on July 27, 2025, when Studio ENGI shared a new teaser video and a fresh poster. The poster shows the main characters wearing their updated outfits for the new season.
The anime will begin airing in January 2026 on TV Asahi’s “NUMAnimation” block and 23 other channels across Japan, just like Season 1 did in 2025.
The main team behind the anime is also coming back. Yasutaka Yamamoto will direct again, Jukki Hanada will write the story, Chinatsu Kameyama is back as the character designer, and Yuki Hayashi returns to create the music.
Some staff roles behind the scenes have changed, especially in the art and visual effects team, which means fans can expect new and exciting visuals on the ice. Also, real-life figure skaters like Akiko Suzuki, Yuhana Yokoi, and Hinano Isobe are still helping with the choreography and animation, making the skating scenes look even more realistic.

Plot Overview
Season 2 will continue the story of Inori Yuitsuka, a hardworking fifth-grade figure skater, and her coach Tsukasa Akeuraji, who gave up his dreams until he saw Inori’s potential. The new teaser shows they are now aiming for the Chūbu Regional Championships to qualify for the All-Japan Championships.
With new rivals stepping onto the ice, fans can expect exciting performances, emotional moments, and the pressure of big competitions in the upcoming episodes.
