Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-, a re-edited compilation of the TV anime series, is set for a theatrical re-release across Japan on June 20, 2025. The film previously had advance theatrical screenings starting January 17, 2025, in 426 theaters (including 52 IMAX locations) prior to the TV anime’s April 8 premiere. These initial screenings were highly successful, debuting at number one in the weekend box office by grossing ¥598,832,300 (approximately $4.16 million USD) from 352,522 admissions in its first three days.

It remained in the box office top 10 for seven consecutive weekends. Over 66 days, it accumulated an impressive ¥3,296,499,200 (approximately $22.89 million USD) from 2,000,380 admissions, making it the third highest-grossing Japanese anime theatrical screening of 2025 to date, trailing only Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback and Doraemon: Nobita’s Art World Tales.
As a special incentive, moviegoers attending the June 20 re-release will receive “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- DESIGN WORKS 3,” a 24-page booklet. This will be the ninth bonus item distributed, featuring new cover illustrations by character designer Take.
