Netflix is generating buzz for the second season of its live-action “ONE PIECE” series with a new teaser video, hinting at a significant announcement at the annual TUDUM fan event on May 31. This comes after a period of relative silence from the streaming giant regarding the highly anticipated One Piece Season 2.
One Piece Season 2: Teaser is here
The first season, which premiered on August 31, 2023, was a major success, topping Netflix’s English-language TV rankings with over 18.5 million views and 140.1 million hours streamed in its debut week. Despite this strong performance, a previously mentioned 2025 release window was briefly posted and then removed from the official TUDUM website. The new teaser suggests Netflix is now ready to share updates.
Filming for Season 2 has reportedly concluded, with over 20 new characters confirmed. These include key figures from the Drum Island arc such as Crocodile, Vivi, and Nico Robin. The cast additions include Rigo Sanchez (Dragon), Yonda Thomas (Igaram), and Sophia Anne Caruso (Miss Goldenweek). Manga creator Eiichiro Oda has praised the new cast and stated that the upcoming season will surpass its predecessor, covering events up to the end of the Drum Island arc and setting the stage for the Alabasta saga.

Further solidifying the show’s future, actor Joe Manganiello, cast as Mr. 0 (Crocodile), recently confirmed in an interview with Cinemablend that filming for Season 3 will commence later this year. Manganiello stated, “We’ve taken a break between Season 2 and Season 3… So yeah, I’ll be heading back later on this year, and we’ll be working on the next part of the story.”
All indications point to the TUDUM 2025 event as the platform for Netflix to finally unveil details about ONE PIECE Season 2, potentially including a release window, new footage, and additional cast reveals, such as the actor portraying Chopper. The show’s popularity and the confirmed development of a third season underscore Netflix’s commitment to adapting Oda’s acclaimed manga.
