Solo Leveling: KARMA – What We Know So Far

Netmarble, the developer behind Solo Leveling: Arise, has announced a new game called Solo Leveling: KARMA, which promises to delve into an “untold tale of a 27-year gap” within the Solo Leveling universe. Revealed with a teaser trailer at Anime Expo 2025, the game will feature 3D battle gameplay against familiar monsters like Cerberus and the Statue of God.

Solo Leveling: KARMA – Platforms and Gameplay

Solo Leveling: KARMA will be available on both mobile (iOS, Android) and PC platforms. It’s described as an RPG roguelite, expanding on the global hit anime series. The core narrative explores the “Dimensional Gap,” a previously unexplored period in the source material where protagonist Sung Jinwoo fights a 27-year war among Monarchs. The goal is to restore the “Broken Cup of Reincarnation” through Jinwoo’s fragmented memories.

Players can expect dazzling combat with various weapons like daggers, scythes, and bows, facing off against iconic Magic Beasts from the original series, including the Hobgoblin Leader and the Demonic King Baran. The game will also introduce original characters alongside Jinwoo, aiming for an immersive cinematic experience.

The gameplay will feature isometric-view hack-and-slash combat with “heavy-hitting action” and “strategic ‘Blessing’ upgrades” that boost skill levels and stats. Players will be able to summon classic Shadows like Iron and Igris, performing signature combo skills. The roguelite element means progress is reset upon loss, but “growth-driven mechanics” allow players to retain some development, such as weapons or armor. Given the gacha elements in Solo Leveling: Arise, some fans anticipate similar mechanics in KARMA.

Production and Release

Netmarble and its subsidiary, Netmarble Neo, are developing Solo Leveling: KARMA, just as they did for Solo Leveling: Arise. However, a key difference is that KARMA‘s copyright also credits ‘Solo Leveling Animation Partners,’ the production committee behind the anime series, which includes Aniplex, D&C Media, Kakao Piccoma, and Crunchyroll, in addition to Netmarble. This broader involvement could lead to significant returns for the anime production committee, especially given Solo Leveling: Arise‘s massive success.

There’s no confirmed release date for Solo Leveling: KARMA yet, with the announcement simply stating “Coming Soon.” While the game wasn’t on Netmarble’s recent 2025 release timeline, an update is expected in August. The involvement of the anime production committee suggests a potential synchronization with a future Solo Leveling Season 3 release.

Source Material and Languages

Solo Leveling: KARMA will explore an original storyline set in the Dimensional Gap, a period Jinwoo entered in Chapter 178 of the webtoon, where 27 years passed for him while only two years elapsed in the real world.

The game will support Japanese, English, and Korean, with additional confirmed languages including Chinese (Simplified, Traditional), Thai, Bahasa Indonesia, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian, mirroring the language support for Solo Leveling: Arise.

This new game, with its focus on the Dimensional Gap and the “Broken Cup of Reincarnation,” opens up new narrative possibilities within the Solo Leveling universe, potentially influencing future anime and other media adaptations.
