Takopi’s Original Sin Anime Sets June 28 Debut with Trailer and Theme Songs

The upcoming anime Takopi’s Original Sin has unveiled its main visual and official trailer, confirming a premiere date of June 28, 2025. The series will run for a total of six episodes and will stream weekly on platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Hulu, ABEMA, and others.

The trailer also features the anime’s theme songs. The opening theme, Happy Lucky Chappy, is performed by singer Ano. The ending theme, titled Glass no Sen, is sung by Tele. Both songs set the emotional tone for the series, which blends science fiction with psychological drama.

Cast and Staff Revealed Ahead of Takopi’s Original Sin Anime Premiere

The voice cast includes Reina Ueda as Shizuka, Kurumi Mamiya as Takopi, Konomi Kohara as Marina Kirarazaka, and Anna Nagase as Naoki. Shinya Iino is directing the series and is also in charge of series composition. Character designs are by Keita Nagahara, while animation production is being handled by ENISHIYA. The project is produced by TBS Television.

The anime adapts the manga Takopi’s Original Sin (Takopi no Genzai) written and illustrated by Taizan 5.The manga was released on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ app from December 2021 to March 2022. It was later collected into two full volumes. VIZ Media holds the English license.

Story of a Well-Meaning Alien with a Dark Twist

The story follows Takopi, a cheerful alien from the Happy Planet who arrives on Earth with a mission to spread joy. His first encounter is with Shizuka, a fourth-grade girl dealing with deep sadness. Hoping to help, Takopi uses advanced technology to fix her problems, often by turning back time. However, his efforts take unexpected turns, leading to tragic consequences.

Takopi starts to remember things he had forgotten and begins to wonder what it really means to make someone happy. His good intentions often lead to trouble, making him question if he’s truly helping. The story mixes cute moments with serious themes like pain, mistakes, and the hope for a second chance.
