Tales of Xillia Remastered is set to return this October. The popular role-playing game is being updated with improved visuals and smoother gameplay, giving both old fans and new players a chance to experience the story again.
Whether you played it when it first released or are trying it for the first time, the remaster aims to bring the world of Tales of Xillia to a wider audience on modern platforms.
Tales of Xillia Remastered Launches October 2025
Tales of Xillia Remastered is scheduled to launch worldwide on October 31, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC through Steam. In Japan, the console versions will arrive one day earlier.
The story takes place in Rieze Maxia, a world where humans and spirits live side by side. Players can choose between two main characters: Jude Mathis, a young medical student, or Milla Maxwell, a mysterious woman with the power of spirits on her side. Their paths soon come together as they set out to stop a weapon that threatens to drain the world of its mana.
The remaster introduces several helpful improvements. Players will have access to auto-save, the ability to turn enemy encounters on or off, a destination marker to guide exploration, and early use of the Grade Shop.
Along with these updates, most of the original downloadable content is included, such as costumes and bonus items. A Digital Deluxe Edition will also be available, featuring a music pack, growth support items, a digital artbook, and the soundtrack.
New Features and Performance
Performance has also been upgraded for modern systems. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions run in 4K at 60 frames per second, while the Xbox Series S version supports 1440p. On PC, players can reach up to 4K at 120 frames per second. The Nintendo Switch version runs at 1080p when docked and 720p in handheld mode, both at 30 frames per second.
Combat remains faithful to the original release with the Dual Raid Linear Motion Battle System. This allows players to control characters in real time, linking together combo attacks and support skills for fast and dynamic battles.
