The movie WIND BREAKER live-action has finally dropped its teaser trailer, character visuals, and revealed the main cast, getting fans super excited. The movie is being directed by Kentaro Hagiwara, who also worked on the live-action version of Blue Period.
It follows a powerful story of delinquents fighting for justice. The movie is set to release in Japan in December 2025, and fans can’t wait to see their favorite characters in live action.
WIND BREAKER Live-Action: Teaser and Cast
On June 25, 2025, the first teaser for the WIND BREAKER live-action movie was released, giving fans a glimpse into the film’s intense vibe and main characters.
The short clip shows Haruka Sakura, played by Koshi Mizukami, taking on rival delinquents in the streets near Furin High, hinting at the big showdown between Bofurin and Shishitoren. Alongside the teaser, character visuals were also revealed, showing the cast in their full costumes with powerful and dramatic looks.

JUNON, a member of the group BE: FIRST, will portray Kyotaro Sugishita, who brings a cool yet funny energy to the team.
The supporting cast includes:
- Taisei Kido as Akihiko Nirei
- Keito Tsuna as Hayato Suo
- Motoki Nakazawa as Toma Hiiragi
- Shuhei Uesugi as Hajime Umemiya
Each of these characters plays an important part in the Bofurin team, adding different personalities and strengths.
The script is written by Yōsuke Masaike (Anime Supremacy!), and Yoshitaka Kamo is in charge of production. The project is backed by Warner Bros. Japan.
The actors have shown great enthusiasm for the project. Mizukami described the movie as a “Reiwa-era delinquent film,” referring to its modern twist in the story on classic gang stories.
Creator Satoru Nii also praised the cast by saying that they’ve brought each character to life with real energy and effort, especially in the action scenes.
