The narrative centers on Otto’s near-fatal encounter with Lye, only to be rescued by a newly awakened Beatrice. Lye’s psychological warfare, utilizing Rem’s past words, intensifies the tension. Beatrice and Otto, aware of the grave peril should Lye cross paths with Subaru, prepare for a final stand.
However, Beatrice’s limited magical reserves pose a significant challenge. Despite unleashing powerful spells, she struggles to land a critical blow, while Lye’s Authority begins to consume the members of the “White Dragon’s Scales.”

The episode’s production features Masahiro Yokotani’s script, Ryuhei Aoyagi’s storyboard and direction, and a large team of animation directors, including Masahiko Nakada, Tomoshige Inayoshi, and others. Studio WHITE FOX, the studio behind the season, continues its work on the series, led by director Masahiro Shinohara, character designer Haruka Sagawa, and composer Kenichiro Suehiro.
The third season, which premiered with a 90-minute special, is divided into two arcs: the Attack Arc and the Counterattack Arc. The source material, Tappei Nagatsuki’s light novel, began as a web novel in 2012 and transitioned to a light novel series in 2014, with illustrations by Shin’ichiro Otsuka. The anime adaptation’s first season aired in 2016, followed by a split-cour second season in 2020 and 2021.
