The popular action-comedy anime Sakamoto Days is coming back with an exciting new part. Recently, a fresh trailer for Sakamoto Days Part 2 was released, showing off new characters, an all-new ending theme, and lots of intense action. This new part continues from where Part 1 left off earlier in 2025, where we met Taro Sakamoto—a former hitman now living a quiet life as a shopkeeper. With big story arcs teased, fans can’t wait for its July premiere.

Sakamoto Days Part 2 Trailer: Release Date, Cast, and More

On June 15, during a special early screening in Tokyo, the second main trailer for Sakamoto Days Part 2 was officially revealed, bringing a bunch of exciting updates for fans. The trailer starts off with a powerful moment: the villain “X” (also known as Slur) returns and throws a serious challenge at Sakamoto, leading to one of the most intense and action-packed scenes shown so far.

Sakamoto Days Part 2 will begin airing on July 14, 2025 (midnight JST), which means early morning on July 15 in Japan. Netflix is going to release the first two episodes at once.

We also get a quick look at several important characters in action:

  • Gaku, the strong and dangerous fighter from Season 1
  • Akira Akao (voiced by M.A.O)
  • Rion Akao (Mamiko Noto)
  • Mafuyu Seba (Daiki Yamashita)
  • Kanaguri (Satoshi Hino)

These new characters will play big roles in upcoming story arcs, especially the Death Row Prisoners and JCC Transfer Exams, which begin around chapter 38 of the manga. Of course, our main cast is also back, including Tomokazu Sugita (Sakamoto), Nobunaga Shimazaki (Shin), and Ayane Sakura (Lu).

Music-wise, Part 2 brings in two fresh theme songs. The opening is “Method” by Kroi, while the ending song is “Dandelion” by the band go!go!vanillas. The ending theme has a soft and emotional tone, matching Sakamoto’s quieter moments with his family after all the chaos.
