New Arc Begins for The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows With Fresh Trailer and Cast Reveals

The anime series of The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows will start a new chapter with its next “Royal Institute of Healing” arc. The transition starts on May 22, 2025, through episode 8. Today, a new promotional video and key visual were announced, giving a glimpse of what is in store for the story and characters next.

Three new characters will make their debut in this arc. Becker will be voiced by experienced actor Takehito Koyasu. Setsuo Ito is joining the cast as Cress, and Tetsu Inada provides the voice for Goldran.

The anime streams as part of Crunchyroll’s Spring 2025 simulcast lineup. The series is produced by animation firm Makaria, with Joe Yoshizaki serving as director. Taika Miyagi is responsible for the scriptwriting, and Harumi Fuuki is in charge of composing the music.

The light novel series is originally written by Sakaku Hishikawa and illustrated by Daburyu. It is published in Japan by SB Creative in the GA Novel brand. The English version is distributed digitally by J-Novel Club.

Brilliant Healer A Story of Defiance and Healing

The tale traces the path of Zenos, a young healer who was rejected and deemed to be lacking. Based in the slums, he comes to develop healing magic of great strength through his own efforts. Working from an underground clinic, he treats those ignored by society. As the news of his skills spreads, even the royal court starts to hear about him.

Zenos’s path from rejection to acceptance forms the core of the story. Once declared useless, he works diligently to establish himself silently, by ability and by effort. With the opening of the new arc, his journey meets that of the Royal Institute of Healing, leading into new challenges and greater intrigue.
