To mark the exciting news, a teaser visual featuring the protagonist, Minato Kusunoki, alongside his wolf spirit companion, was unveiled. The announcement was further celebrated with special illustrations from both the original light novel illustrator, ox, and manga artist, Akira Anzai.

“The Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods” initially gained popularity after being posted on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in 2021. Later that same year, ASCII Media Works picked up the series for full publication, leading to both light novel and manga adaptations. Currently, nine volumes of the light novel and four volumes of the manga have been released in Japan. For English-speaking fans, Yen Press is publishing the series, with the third volume expected to release on November 11th.

Yen Press describes the enchanting story as one where the Kusunoki household becomes increasingly vibrant and mystical with the arrival of divine beings like the playful kirin and the serious ho’o. The garden, at the will of the Yamagami, transforms into a perpetual spring, allowing Minato and the other inhabitants to enjoy tranquil days amidst cherry blossoms and seasonal treats. As new entities venture into the garden and Minato explores other kami realms, it truly embodies a season of fresh starts. However, this period also sees onmyoji tirelessly working to eliminate a surge of malevolent spirits that appear during this time of year.
