Fans eager for a look at the new anime movie Mirage QUEEN Elegant Vacations (also known in Japan as Kaitou Queen no Yuuga na Vacances or Mirage QUEEN Vacances Elegantes) can now watch its initial four minutes. Pony Canyon has released this opening footage on its official anime YouTube channel.

The preview commences with narration about a mythical island and ancient dragon tales. Aboard the grand airship Troubadour, Queen is shown holding a childhood picture of Joker, described as a “treasure.” This calm is shattered by news that Satchmo & Co. has received “a warning letter from Queen.” Queen, having sent no such letter, recognizes it as a clear setup. The scene then shifts to the Royal Satchmo, a luxury liner navigating the Caribbean Sea, where Queen’s purported “elegant vacation” is about to unfold.

Mirage QUEEN Elegant Vacations, the second movie based on Kaoru Hayamine’s “Kaito Queen” novel series, began its theatrical run in Japan on May 23, 2025. Yuga Yamato, a former star of the Takarazuka Revue, revisits her role as the titular Queen. The film sees a change in direction, with Shigetaka Ikeda (Future Card Buddyfight) taking the helm from Saori Den, who directed the first installment.
The story revolves around Mirage Queen, an enigmatic figure of unknown gender, age, or nationality, who, along with partners Joker and RD, travels the world on their airship, the Troubadour. Queen receives a challenge from Satchmo Wilson, the president of Satchmo & Co., to steal his jewel, the Imperial Sapphire. Aware that this is a trap orchestrated by Satchmo due to a past grievance, Queen accepts the invitation. Disguised, Queen and Joker board the luxury liner Royal Satchmo, anticipating an “elegant vacation.” However, their mission is complicated when another party attempts to steal the jewel before Queen can, and Satchmo’s assassins begin to emerge. The Caribbean cruise promises adventure and obstacles, but the narrative assures that nothing is beyond Mirage Queen’s capabilities.
