As Solo Leveling advances its storyline, Season 3 is expected to feature sweeping global battles and more powerful beings. However, this evolution in scale means several supporting characters from earlier arcs may be left out moving forward. Though these individuals contributed to Sung Jinwoo’s growth and world-building in early episodes, their stories are likely to fade as the focus narrows on international threats and high-stakes power struggles. Check out the several fan-favorite characters may not return in Solo Leveling Season 3 below.
Solo Leveling Season 3: Characters May Not Return
Han Song-Yi
Han Song-Yi, a friend of Jinwoo’s sister and an E-rank hunter, represented the everyday struggle of less powerful hunters. Her emotional storyline with Jinwoo gave fans a rare, humanized look at his compassion. Despite this, she has no apparent role in the evolving global narrative, making her return unlikely.
Lim Tae-Gyu
Guild master of the Fiend Guild and Korea’s top ranger-type hunter, Lim Tae-Gyu played a significant part during the Jeju Island conflict. However, compared to his international counterparts, he lacks the strength to remain a key player in upcoming arcs, which will likely sideline him in favor of stronger figures from other nations.
Park Heejin may not return in Solo Leveling Season 3
A tactical B-rank hunter from the White Tiger Guild, Park Heejin impressed early on with her keen insight during the Red Gate arc. Despite her potential, her brief appearance didn’t leave room for deeper development. With the narrative now centered around Jinwoo’s rise among global elites, Heejin is unlikely to return in a meaningful way.
Song Chi-Yul
An early supporter of Jinwoo and survivor of the Double Dungeon, Song Chi-Yul demonstrated both courage and loyalty. He briefly came out of retirement to protect civilians, but with his fighting days behind him, Chi-Yul is anticipated to retire permanently from the story’s frontlines.
Lee Minsung
An actor-turned-hunter, Lee Minsung attempted to rehabilitate his image through the Fiend Guild. His superficial motivations and limited combat involvement make him a poor fit for the darker, high-stakes tone the series is adopting. His disappearance in Season 3 seems all but certain.
Lee Joohee
One of Jinwoo’s earliest allies, Lee Joohee helped him survive when he was still a struggling E-rank hunter. Traumatized by dungeon raids, she gradually withdrew from the battlefield. Despite her emotional significance and fan following, Joohee is expected to remain absent until possibly the final arc of the series.
Ma Dongwook
Ma Dongwook, a formidable S-rank hunter and leader of the Fame Guild, stood out during the Jeju Island raid with his size-shifting ability, Gigantification. Yet, as international dynamics and stronger entities enter the frame, Dongwook’s relevance seems to wane. His absence in Season 3 would reflect the show’s shift away from regional hunters.
Solo Leveling continues to grow in scope, pushing its narrative toward an epic, international scale. While this shift promises intense action and new characters. It also means parting ways with some of the early fan favorites who helped build the world around Sung Jinwoo’s rise.
